The Village Resort
Pohnpei
The Village Resort - the feel is like a cozy B & B in the heart of the most beautiful island in the Carolines. Lush jungle, waterfalls and mist covered mountain peaks, a coral reef surrounds this island paradise. The Village itself consists of individual cottages made of local materials and constructed using timeless Ponapean carpentry antiques. Beyond the Village you can still witness tribal ceremonies, sip a narcotic drink that's pounded from the roots of the pepper plant, and get yourself tattooed.
Accommodation
Bungalows - Each bungalow has two queen size waterbeds (just the thing for afternoon naps), a cocktail table, Victorian white wicker furniture, and plenty of room.
Closet - The closet has wicker shelves for folded things. In case it gets cold, blankets are there. At night, the maid turns the bed down and surrounds it with an insect net (seldom necessary - but very romantic)
Hot showers - Each bungalow has a wood-lined shower, plenty of hot water, and attractive bathrooms. The water is treated daily and is drinkable from the tap.
Breezes - Lagoon breezes keep the air clean and fresh - so there's no musty smell.

It was awesome !
Diving in Pohnpei is as thrilling as diving in Palau. Fabiano & Katja. On the reefs you'll see millions of tropical fish, schools of sharks, barracudas, and of course - the mantas.
The 10-15 foot manta rays are not afraid and are found almost everyday at Manta Road. They may "inspect" the strange bubble-making creatures, but don't like touching.
