Itinerary

Day 1-4:

Welcome to Mozambique!

Upon arrival at Beira Airport, you'll be greeted and escorted to the lounge for preparations for your 35-minute scenic flight to Gorongosa National Park. Once considered one of the world's premier wildlife destinations, Gorongosa suffered greatly from a devastating flood and civil war, resulting in the park's closure for many years. However, thanks to ongoing, internationally acclaimed restoration projects, Gorongosa is experiencing a remarkable resurgence. It's rapidly regaining its status as a leading eco-tourism destination in Mozambique and has been recognized as one of the most biodiverse places on Earth.

Beyond its rich wildlife, Gorongosa boasts diverse attractions, including the Lion House, Hippo viewpoint, the dramatic limestone cliffs of Chiringoma, the expansive Lake Urema floodplains, and majestic Mount Gorongosa.

Chicari Camp, formerly known as Gorongosa Wild Camp, offers a truly unforgettable seasonal safari experience in the heart of Gorongosa National Park. Named after the life-giving pan it overlooks—a vast natural waterhole that attracts a wealth of wildlife—Chicari provides an intimate and immersive connection with the park's untamed beauty. Here, guests can reconnect with nature's rhythms and create lasting memories in one of Africa's most pristine wilderness areas.

Chicari Camp features ten thoughtfully designed canvas tents, comprising eight classic safari tents and two unique treehouse tents. Each tent offers spacious interiors with comfortable beds, solar-powered lighting, and private en- suite bathrooms, ensuring a relaxing sanctuary after a day of adventure. The two treehouse tents, nestled at the base of a wooden hide, share a spacious deck, making them an ideal option for two couples or a family traveling together. All tents command exceptional views of the pan and are connected by raised wooden walkways, seamlessly blending the camp's layout with the surrounding environment while ensuring both privacy and an intimate connection with nature.

Day 5-10:

Following breakfast, you'll embark on a direct charter flight from Gorongosa to Vilanculos Airport. This charming coastal town serves as the gateway to the breathtaking Bazaruto Archipelago, a cluster of six islands nestled within the protected waters of Bazaruto National Park.

Renowned for their pristine white-sand beaches, the islands offer a haven of natural beauty. Bazaruto, the largest of the islands, is distinguished by its dramatic, towering sand dunes. The vibrant coral reefs surrounding Magaruque and Santa Carolina islands teem with marine life, including the rare and elusive dugong, creating exceptional opportunities for diving and snorkeling.

Azura Marlin Beach offers ten exquisitely designed villas, seamlessly blending the rich traditions of Mozambique with contemporary elegance. Each villa features dedicated butler-host service and is crafted to immerse guests in the breathtaking natural beauty of Benguerra Island. Thoughtfully designed indoor-outdoor living spaces and a relaxed aesthetic create a haven of seclusion, comfort, and island chic.

The communal areas at Azura Marlin Beach have been meticulously designed to maximize the stunning Indian Ocean views, providing a variety of spaces for relaxation and enjoying island life. Start your day with breakfast at our main restaurant, move on to a leisurely poolside lunch soaking up the sun, and conclude with a magical, elegant dinner under the stars. A highlight of the week is our lively Beach BBQ, a guest favorite and a truly memorable experience.

Guests enjoy access to Wi-Fi, a boutique offering clothing and souvenirs, and a dedicated PADI 5-Star dive center stocked with high-quality ScubaPro equipment. For the adventurous, our fishing center boasts a fleet for tag-and- release fishing, including excursions targeting the prized Black Marlin that make the Bazaruto Archipelago world- renowned.

Day 11:

Sadly your holiday has come to an end. You will be transferred back to Vilanculos Airport to check in for your onward departure flight.

** Gorongosa National Park closes annually for the rain season from December till either March / April of the following year. Opening date is subject to conditions on the ground and can only be confirmed therefore closer to the date.
